We went to see Lazarus the giant African snail.

Following on from our lesson on animal classification. The boys have created their favourite minibeast using different materials.

This week we have been focusing on tigers and in particular Henri Rousseau’s painting. The boys worked with enthusiasm to produce their own painting. 

This weeks the boys have been learning about different types of angles. They have used 2D shapes and sorted them into a Venn Diagram.

As part of our Science focus of classification, yesterday we all went on a minibeast hunt.

A chocolate cake is cut into twelve equal pieces.

What fraction of the cake is left?

This week the boys have been learning about fractions of number. Today they took part in an investigation which involved presenting their findings to the class. The boys were able to share their results and demonstrate their knowledge of equivalent fractions.

This afternoon the boys studied Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. They then sketched their version of this famous painting and then used watercolours. Although the weather was dull and wet outside, it was sunny and fragrant inside!

Yesterday the boys learned about classifying animals. We looked closely at invertebrates. The boys then designed and named their own minibeast.
