Can you make a decoration from recycled materials for our Christmas Giving Tree?

Our beautiful Christmas Giving Tree can be seen in our foyer area. It is rooted and has been growing for two years.

Your decoration can include a Christmas message to all your friends, which can be shown and read out in class before you place it on the tree.

To participate in this scheme you can make a donation to the Head Boys’ Charities, with the money you would have spent on cards. We would like to encourage our boys not to send Christmas cards inside school (they can however, send any cards they wish outside of school).

Thank you for supporting this incentive. We can’t wait to see your decorations made from recycled materials.

best invention debate

The boys were unbelievably brilliant at debating today. They were split into two teams each arguing that their invention was the best. We had lots of fantastic ideas why the invention of the telephone was better than the invention of the motor car and vice versa.

It was a joy to listen to the boys engaging and discussing opposing points. Everyone participated and they were keen to speak in front of the class and teachers. Oluwadara even commented that it was like ‘Judge Judy’.

Here are some ideas to debate at home,

Are school uniforms a good or bad idea?

Should there be any zoos in the world?

Which is better, television or books?

Please comment to let us know how you get on.

We measured the length of the AstroTurf this morning

Below are photos of the boys measuring the AstroTurf pitch. They really enjoyed taking turns to measure and count the clicks on the trundle wheels. It was tricky to walk in a straight line and we had varied results.

Adnan, Matthew and Zach – 66m

Zachary and Jenson – 62m

Luca, Alec and Noah – 60m

Oluwadara and Maximos – 69m

Oliver and Samuel – 70m

Max and Yuri – 72m

Joshua and Cian – 63m

Raphael and Connor – 70m

Valentino and Ishaan – 70m

A Poem by Oliver

Oliver wrote this beautiful poem to commemorate the soldiers who fought in the war:

On the fields where the soldiers fought, there are poppies
We shall remember them
At 11am on November the 11th
We have a minute’s silence to remember them

Well done, Oliver.
