We used our five senses to complete a scavenger hunt. The boys had great success accomplishing this activity. Next, we explored the sense of sound. There is always so much to listen to outside! Whether you are in the playground, woods or in a garden, it is amazing what you can hear when you truly stop and listen. Finally, we closed our eyes and trusted a partner to guide us safely around the field.
Take a picture of you reading a book in an unusual place. Give a short description of this book, what it is about and whether you are enjoying it. Maybe one of your friends would like to read it!
Please email the photos and we can share them here, on our class blog.
On Thursday afternoon we made sandwiches!
The week before we had planned and selected from a given choice of ingredients what we wanted in them!
They came out really well and we all enjoyed eating them!
Next time they want a sandwich at home they could have a go themselves and maybe even make one for you!
We had a fabulous day on Wednesday taking part in a virtual ‘seaside workshop.’ We found out all about what seaside trips and holidays were like back in the Victorian era.
We made games, heard stories and saw artefacts that would have been around at that time.
The question and answer session was great, the boys came up with some great questions!
Here are some photos from a great workshop and experience. We have learnt so much about the seaside in the Victorian era.
Today we learned how to be safe around medicines.
Can you design a poster informing people how to be safe around medicines?
Include lots of facts about medicines and make it bright and eye-catching.
Learning Objective: To be able to create a journey stick for an adventure story
Australian aboriginal people have inhabited Australia for thousands of years. They have always created journey sticks which are used to remember the events of a journey. These are made by tying special things from the journey onto a stick, in chronological order. The stick can then be used to remember and tell people about the journey.
We went on a walk to explore the outside environment and imagined that we were going on an adventure. The boys enjoyed attaching items from the environment to their stick to help them to remember their journey.
We have been enjoying The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch story.
Imagine that you are planning a picnic lunch for yourself and your family. Can you think of different food items that you would take on a picnic? Please list them in a comment for everyone to see.
Challenge: include alliterative adjectives for each item e.g. scrumptious sausages, delicious doughnuts.
