The Astronaughty School Trip
Once upon a time there was a school. It was a big school. There were 30 children in class 3. They were excited because they were going on a trip to the moon on this very day. Their teacher Mrs Smile said that class 3 were going on a flying train to the moon.
The clock was ticking, tick tock, tick tock… Everyone was waiting for the train. It finally came! It took an hour to get to the moon. Everybody was having fun playing hide and seek in the moon craters until they heard a roar behind Sally Moon. It was the Moon Monster! His eyes looked like terrible pools of fire, his skin was super shiny and sparkly and spikey and his legs looked like electric wire. Everybody ran as fast as they could back to the train and the train took off but there were three children left behind – Sally Moon, Simon Star and Bruce Rocket. They hid in the craters. The Moon Monster said “I can see you” and he did a big roar and his eyes flashed. Everybody on earth looked up at the sky and saw dreadful thunder and lightning. The Moon Monster stomped towards the crater that the children were hiding in. The children were scared. But Sally Moon was more of a fearless child than the others and so she jumped out of the crater and said “why don’t you try being nice Moon Monster? Being nice is kind and lovely and you’ll have more friends than you do now”. The Moon Monster thought about it and said “Ok, I’ll try being nice, what do I do?”
Sally Moon said “First, you have to stop being angry and turn that frown upside down. Second when you see people you should smile and say hello. You could ask them to play”.
The Moon Monster tried a big smile. His eyes turned yellow and on earth the sun came out.
Simon Star and Bruce Rocket climbed out of the crater. “Hello” said the Moon Monster “would you like to play with me?”.
“Yeah we’ll play” they said. “Let’s play ‘it’”. And they showed the Moon Monster how to play – they had an amazing time playing on the moon with their new friend.
It was getting late and Bruce Rocket said “how are we going to get home, the train’s gone?”
“I can help you” said the Moon Monster. And he started to cry happy tears! On earth the sun was shining and it started raining. All of a sudden the Moon Monster’s eyes turned red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. “It’s a rainbow!” shouted Simon Star. “We can use it as a slide to get back to earth” said Sally Moon. So the three children jumped on and slid all the way down to earth! “This slide is better than the one at The Galleria soft play” shouted Bruce Rocket as they whizzed back down to earth.
