This afternoon the boys found out about the artist Henri Matisse and explored his ‘drawing with scissors’. As an old man he could no longer paint so instead he cut out free form shapes and layered them to create art whilst resigned to his bed.
The boys have produced their art work inspired by the work of Matisse they were shown. Every picture tells a story…..

The boys have really engaged with our new wonderful rug. They noticed it straight away. It has brightened up our classroom and we have even used it for some games. Thank you to all the PTA for their generous purchase.
The boys have been adding money to make a total. They have also started calculating how much change is needed.

Inspired by the healthy eating he was taught at school Alexis made some fruity frogs on Sunday and he wanted to share them with his class. Thank you, Alexis.
This morning Year 2 sang some harvest songs in the assembly to the seniors. They did amazingly well and one of the PTA ladies sent us some photos, which we would like to share.
The boys have been working in pairs to solve mathematical problems. I was impressed with their ability to work out what the problem was asking them to do. They worked collaboratively in a logical and organised manner! Well done.
