Exercise keeps us healthy
The boys in 2WA are learning about the heart and how to locate the pulse. They have also found out how to keep the heart healthy.
Did you know?
Your heart is really a muscle. It’s located a little to the left of the middle of your chest, and it’s about the size of your fist. There are lots of muscles all over your body — in your arms, in your legs and in your back.
The heart muscle is special because of what it does. The heart sends blood around your body. The blood provides your body with the oxygen and nutrients it needs. It also carries away waste e.g carbon dioxide.
Your heart is sort of like a pump, or two pumps in one. The right side of your heart receives blood from the body and pumps it to the lungs. The left side of the heart does the exact opposite: It receives blood from the lungs and pumps it out to the body.
We enjoyed trying different exercises to make our hearts beat faster. These included clapping, jumping, hopping, touching our toes, catching and running on the spot.
Autumn Term
Welcome back to all our wonderful 2WA boys and families.
We have had a marvellous start to the new term. Every boy has demonstrated a superb attitude to learning and produced high quality work.
Your bright and colourful postcards have arrived and will be displayed with pointers to where each boy visited in the World this summer.
