Happy Half Term!

I just wanted to wish you all a marvellous half term.

Also just to let you know that we are getting involved in the ‘Design a National Book Token’ competition for World Book Day. I have the forms so the boys just need to ask for one from me and hand them back to me when they are finished completing it. Also I wanted to share a photo with you of Zak pretending to be a character in one of the books we were reading while the class asked him questions! He was a great Mr Dry-Bone.

See you in a week : )

Chunking (Maths)

Hi all

I wanted to give you a link that I thought may be useful for you as parents as this is a new method used in Primary Schools today to show children how to break down scary looking sums into more manageable ‘chunks’. This will lead to the method that we know and love later on the school which is known as the ‘bus stop method’. Have a look at ‘number lines’ also as they boys are now trying to use ’empty number lines’ which is another term that is new.
