We were so lucky to have a visiting grandparent this morning to teach us all about the Jewish festival, Chanukah.
In the UK, and all around the world, Jewish adults and children celebrate the Jewish festival of lights called Chanukah.
The date of Chanukah changes every year, because it depends on the calendar, but it will always fall in November or December.
1. I think of a mystery number. I take away 13. I get 30. What was my mystery number?
2. I think of a mystery number. I halve it and then take away 2. I get 8. What was my mystery number?
3. I think of a mystery number. I double it and then add 9. I get 57. What was my mystery number?
“THE BOY AND THE TALL BUILDING”
By ALEXIS
Once upon a time there was a boy that lived in a very tall building. It was tall like 10 Big Bens stuck on top of each other. The top of the building was above the clouds. It was a bit like an arrow piercing the sky. One morning the boy walked in to the elevator to go down. Inside there was a TV. It would take him one hour to get to the ground floor. He had time to watch a film. When he got down he realised he forgot his jumper and he had to go up again to get it. Then he forgot his blazer and then he forgot his tie and then he forgot his shoes. All day long he kept going up and down and he got to school at midnight. Nobody was there. The next day when he got home his flat started to lift up. It was flying. His computer was a stirring wheel. The boy flew in space, sliced the moon in half, went through the sun and then he landed back to earth.
